Effects of Work-Related Stressors and Work Engagement on Work Stress: Healthcare Managers' Perspective

This study identified the effects of Work-Related Stressors (WRSs) and Work Engagement (WE) on managers’ Stress (WS). Data were collected from 109 healthcare managers (HMs) public private hospitals in İzmir, Turkey, using a structured questionnaire. Exploratory factor analyses carried out to determine construct validity WRS, WE, WS scales. Two WRS factors identified, Support Control (SC), Responsibility Relationship (RR), one each for WE Correlation indicated significant positive relationship between negative other variables. Hierarchical regression conducted evaluate HM demographic variables, dimensions, WE. The first step showed that age managerial experience affects WS. second RR had effect WS, whereas SC no effect. Additionally, significantly decreased Implications Central European audience: findings suggest HMs can reduce by focusing RR. In addition, willingness, enthusiasm, physical mental fitness, effort achieve goals all affect their Thus, HMs’ perceptions may Managers, therefore, need consider job satisfaction, which is particularly associated with work stress, increase Managers should needs expectations both formally informally holding regular evaluations listen employees’ voices.
